Started in 1990, Special Kids Day began as a holiday event for children with special needs and their families to visit Santa Claus without obstacles.

Today, Special Kids Day has evolved into a not-for-profit, 501(c)-(3) organization dedicated to providing celebratory events for children with disabilities and their families in environments designed to accommodate their special needs.

NEW "Playground for Everyone
" Campaign!

A Playground for Everyone is coming in 2016 to Elmhurst....a brand new totally accessible UNIVERSAL PLAYGROUND  is being designed and planned for a Spring 2016 ground breaking. More than A.D.A compliant, with components for all persons with disabilities...it will be modern, inclusive for everyone and a multi-community wide attraction.

Want to help make it happen?  Donate a (tax-deductible) buck or a bundle on by clicking on the photo above and we will be sure every dollars gets used to build this amazing new play ground.

April 2014:

The Andi Stelzner Fund: We are both humbled by and appreciative of a grant we received from the Andi Stelzner Fund of the DuPage Community Foundation. Please read Andi’s story and recognize how closely we mirror each other’s mission. From Andi's web site:: “...we established the fund to provide support and opportunities for physically and neurologically challenged children and adults to enjoy as much of life as possible.”
We will, with financial help like this from the Andi Stelzner Fund, promise no less than they expect of us.

Thank you for your trust,

Special Kids Day Board
